Don’t blame us for Muslim perceptions
Friday, August 28th, 2009WASHINGTON – The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff has written a searing critique of government efforts at “strategic communication” with the Muslim world, saying that no amount of public relations will establish credibility if American behavior overseas is perceived as arrogant, uncaring or insulting.

Here is a clue. They will never perceive us as anything but uncaring and insulting because they will never stop blaming their problems on that great Satan the United States. It is much better to blame someone than to admit you are all screwed up. We know the Prophet cannot be mistaken so it must be the US’s fault.
Why does almost everyone who gets a little rank stop forgetting about the purpose of the military and starts talking about political correctness, etc. It is hard not to appear insulting when you are looking at someone down the barrel of an M4. And guess what, that is the military’s job. If you want tea parties and socials call the State Department. That is their job.
If we can’t win with the military (and we can’t) don’t blame it on the military being perceived wrong by Muslims. Put the blame right where it belongs – on a government who commits us to a war that cannot be won.
